Acum, privind în urmă, e doar o rampă de lansare

Te-aș întreba și astăzi, cum ești și ce mai faci,

Dar ai sedus tăcerea și te-ai ascuns s-o taci,

În timp ce eu prin beznă mă zbucium fără rost,

Sperând să-nvii un Este, dintr-un răpus A fost.

Te-aș întreba și astăzi de-n tine mai trăiesc,

Dar florile iubirii și iarna înfloresc,

Și-atunci încui cuvinte o vreme într-un gând,

Și-nchiriez speranțe, și-așa trăiesc, sperând.

Te-aș întreba și astăzi nepuse întrebări,

Însă n-aș vrea să tulbur profunde resemnări;

Și-n taină cumpăr lacrimi din inimi ce se frâng,

Apoi când plouă norii, m-așez cu ei...și plâng.

Te-aș întreba și astăzi ceva, dar mă abțin;

De fapt, voiam a-ți spune, că...Tot...și nu puțin...

Privesc într-o oglindă cum se mai naște-un rid,

Sunt doar o altă Ană, captivă într-un zid...

Pace sau razboi?

Și între noi era iubire,

Aveam nevoie amândoi!

Dar difeream întru simțire:

Eu voiam pace, tu, război;

Eram prea plini de temeri false,

Înfipte foarte-adânc în noi

Și ne-nfruntam cu inimi arse:

Când nu știam ce să-nțelegem,

Speram să rezolvăm în doi,

Însă puteam doar să culegem

O pace scurtă-n plin război...

Ne sărutam cu disperare,

Fie sub soare, fie-n ploi,

Și ne-ntrebam cu-nfrigurare:

Va fi iar pace sau război?

Vom fi mereu plini de-ndoială?

Când ne vom strânge-n brațe goi?

Încrezători... sau cu sfială...

Făceam când pace, când război;

Și ucideam o fericire

Ce ne-o doream, din nou, apoi,

Pentru că pofta de iubire...
